The Wilderness
It's time to relax as you come down the driveway into The Wilderness. The 20-acre
property consists of the
farmhouse,
four
cottages, and
the
Retreat Center.
There are gardens, a pond, and a game-field on the property. (Activities for which we have equipment on hand are: volleyball, whiffle-ball, badminton, horse shoes, and frisbee.) We adjoin the 14,000 acre Little River National Preserve with miles of trails to explore, huge rocks to climb, and a crystal clear swimming hole just a short walk away.
A 15 minute drive will take you to two large waterfalls, horseback riding, the 600' deep Little River carved canyon, two golf courses, and Alabama's only ski slope. A 35 minute drive and you'll find zip-lines, rock climbing, rapelling and other adventures.

Black Bear Cottage |
You will enjoy two bedrooms in this cottage cottage; a Queen-size bed and two twin beds. The bedrooms are separated by the upstairs bathroom. The BB has a full kitchen and screen porch overlooking the pond.
You might want to take a few minutes to just sit on the screen porch and soak in the peaceful environment.
Rates: Weekend days - $100 / Week days - $80

Forget-Me-Knot Cottage |
You might notice the distinct decorations of the Forget-Me-Knot Cottage, as it is the honeymoon cottage. Many couples have signed their names and dates on the hearts stamped in the bathroom.
You'll have one bedroom with a Queen-size bed, plus a Twin-size daybed separated by the bathroom upstairs.The FMK has a full kitchen and screen porch overlooking the pond.
Rates: Weekend days - $100 / Week days - $80

Mountain Meadow Cottage |
This quaint little cottage is perfect for a cozy weekend away with the one you love.
You'll walk down the stone path to your cottage and immediately feel the struggles and concerns wash away. Step in and you can relax and enjoy the peace of the wilderness that surrounds you.
A Queen-sized bed in the bedroom with a Queen-sized sofa bed in the living room. The MM has a full kitchen and a screen porch.
Rates: Weekend days - $90 / Week days - $70

The Farmhouse is an old farmhouse, re-built in the 1930s after a housefire. After living in it the first six years we lived here, we've renovated it and are ready to open it as lodging for groups such as reunions, couple's retreats. The farmhouse has seven bedrooms and four baths and sleeps up to 20 comfortably.
Rates: Weekend days - $250 / Week days - $200

Cleaning fee of $75 unless staying three or more nights
The Retreat Center is our latest addition. it has two 'bunk houses' upstairs which each sleep 25. Each bunk house has a bathroom with four sinks / showers /toilet stalls. Downstairs is a commercial kitchen with everything you need for most meals, a dining room and a meeting room with seating for 75 +/-.
